Gloria Ma Gloria is an intermediate elementary teacher in Vancouver, British Columbia. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (Major in Psychology), Bachelors of Education (Elementary TELL/PBL Cohort), and Diploma in Special Education at the University of British Columbia. She is currently in her 7th and 8th course of her Masters In Educational Technology program. She is passionate about teaching students to be critical thinkers around digital and media literacy.
Lexi Nichols (aka Alexandra Iggulden) -@lexiiggy Lexi received her BSc. with a concentration in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. She then went on to earn the equivalency of a BEd with a Minor in Learning Disabilities from Simon Fraser University. Her love for lifelong learning has brought her to the University of British Columbia where she is currently working through her sixth Masters in Education Technology Course ETEC 531. She has taught everything from grade 1 to 8 but specializes in the middle school age range. She is is currently teaching at HD Stafford (@HDSMSskyhawks) in Langley, British Columbia. She loves interacting with educators and students using a variety of digital platforms and welcomes on-going collaboration so shoot her a message!
Kirsten O'Coin -@mrsocoin Kirsten graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies. She later attended the University of Wollongong in Australia where she earned her Diploma of Education. Returning back to Ontario to begin her teaching career, Kirsten got hired on with three school boards but later decided to settle in Hamilton, Ontario as an OCT certified teacher for Kindergarten to Grade 8. Two years later, Kirsten decided to return to school and is currently completing her seventh course in the Master of Educational Technology program at The University of British Columbia. She is excited to be expanding her understanding of using technology as a learning tool for both herself and her students.
Catherine Sverko @SverkoCatherine Catherine is an elementary educator from Ontario, currently with the Niagara Catholic District School Board. She is in her 26th year of teaching and specializes in grades 5-8. Catherine has a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Western Ontario. She is currently enrolled in the MET program at UBC. Although a veteran teacher, Catherine is intrigued by the developments in educational technology and realizes that there is a disconnect between the possibilities that technology affords and how it is actually used in most classrooms.
